Background
CD4 is an accessory molecule involved in TCR recognition of MHC class II/peptide complexes. Expressed predominantly on T helper cells, and to a lesser extent on monocytes and dendritic cells, CD4 also serves as the entry receptor for HIV. The CD4 antibody used in NanoSep™ CD4 beads binds most thymocytes and approximately 65% of peripheral blood T cells, enabling targeted enrichment or depletion of CD4⁺ cells.
Description
NanoSep™ CD4 Magnetic Beads are 50 nm magnetic particles conjugated with anti-human CD4 monoclonal antibodies, specifically designed for the positive selection or depletion of CD4⁺ T cells from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). These beads enable efficient and highly specific isolation of CD4⁺ T cells with excellent recovery, purity, and viability. NanoSep™ CD4 beads are compatible with both manual and automated magnetic separation systems, including column-based platforms such as Miltenyi Biotec's MS columns and column-free systems like Applied Cells’ MARS® Bar, making them a flexible and powerful tool for downstream immunology and cell therapy research.
