Sensitive and Reliable qPCR Kit for Monitoring Immune Status via Torque Teno Virus – 50 Reactions
Description
Torque teno virus (TTV) is a small, single-stranded circular DNA virus widely present in the human virome, with detection rates exceeding 90% in adults. Although not associated with a specific disease, TTV exhibits a strong correlation with host immune activity: viral loads tend to rise during immunosuppression and decrease as immune pressure increases. This unique behavior has led to growing interest in TTV as an endogenous biomarker for monitoring immune function and viral kinetics. The Torque teno Virus Probe qPCR Kit enables quantitative detection of TTV-specific DNA using hydrolysis probe–based real-time PCR. During amplification, the 5' nuclease activity of Taq DNA polymerase cleaves the hybridized probe, releasing the quenched FAM fluorophore. As fluorescence increases, the system measures the accumulation of TTV-specific amplicons and assigns a cycle threshold (Ct) value once the signal rises above background. This Ct value provides a reliable measure of TTV DNA abundance, supporting precise viral load analysis for immunology, transplant immunosuppression, and virome research.
