Product Description

Reverse Transcriptase Positive Control (PC) is provided to ensure the accuracy and reliability of reverse transcriptase activity assays. The control is prepared in accordance with the reverse transcriptase activity test method in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. SP2/0 cell culture supernatant is collected, supplemented with protective agent and frozen at -65 °C or below. The control is intended to be diluted and used alongside test samples and standard curve in reverse transcription/qPCR workflows. For detailed assay procedures refer to the Reverse Transcriptase Assay Kit User Guide (Product No. 1505700). For Research Use Only.

Features

  • Pharmacopoeia‑aligned preparation: Prepared in accordance with the reverse transcriptase activity test method in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia to provide a standardized control.
  • Cell culture supernatant matrix: Derived from SP2/0 cell culture supernatant and supplemented with protective agent to mimic assay matrix.
  • Ready-to-dilute format: Supplied as a concentrated positive control (25 μL) that is diluted 1:10 prior to assay, facilitating parallel processing with samples and standard curve.
  • QC acceptance criteria: Clear amplification curve with Ct ≤ 28 required to qualify the control run.
  • Long-term frozen stability: Stable when stored at -65 °C or below for up to 18 months.

Applications

  • Positive control for reverse transcriptase activity assays
  • Quality control in RT-qPCR workflows
  • Assay validation and performance monitoring
  • Routine laboratory QC for reverse transcription and amplification steps

Kit Contents

Reverse Transcriptase Positive Control (NNA025)-65 °C (25 μL × 1 tube)
* Total: Not specified | Method: Reverse transcriptase activity assay (used with RT-qPCR)

Attention

• For Research Use Only (RUO). Not for diagnostic or clinical use.

• Read the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and follow handling instructions.

• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (gloves, eyewear, lab coat, mask).

• Store product at -65 °C or below. Do not refreeze repeatedly; aliquot into single‑use volumes on first thaw in nuclease‑free, protease‑free cryotubes.

• Use nuclease-free reagents and consumables. Prepare working dilution by adding 5 μL PC to 45 μL Buffer A and mix thoroughly (pipette mixing, vortex, brief spin).

• Perform reverse transcription reactions simultaneously with test samples and the standard curve.

• QC acceptance: run is qualified if PC produces a clear amplification curve and Ct ≤ 28. If Ct > 28, verify aliquoting and storage conditions; repeat the test to exclude operator error.

• Kit components are stable for up to 18 months when stored as recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: How should I store the Reverse Transcriptase Positive Control?
Store at -65 °C or below. On first use, aliquot into single-use nuclease-free, protease-free cryotubes to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Q2: How do I prepare the working control for the assay?
Dilute the control by adding 5 μL of PC to 45 μL of Buffer A (1:10). Mix by pipetting 10 times, vortex briefly and quick spin as described in the user guide.
Q3: What acceptance criteria should the control meet?
The positive control should produce a clear amplification curve and a qPCR Ct value ≤ 28. If Ct > 28, check storage/handling and repeat the test.
Q4: Is this product suitable for clinical diagnostics?
No. This product is intended for Research Use Only (RUO) and is not for diagnostic or clinical use.
