Description
Fibroblast growth factor 4 (FGF4) is a member of the FGF family, playing crucial roles in embryonic development, cell proliferation, and differentiation. It promotes the proliferation of neural stem cells and induces neuronal differentiation in the postnatal brain.
In the context of metabolic research, FGF4 has been implicated in liver homeostasis and glucose regulation. Studies indicate that the loss of hepatic FGF4 in animal models can exacerbate high-fat diet-induced steatosis and liver injury.
Furthermore, similar to FGF1, FGF4 exhibits blood glucose-lowering effects. Long-term treatment with recombinant FGF4 (rFGF4) has been shown to improve insulin resistance and inhibit adipose tissue macrophage infiltration and inflammation.
This product is suitable for stem cell research, neurobiology, and metabolic disease-related studies in vitro.
