Description
PEG 6000 (Polyethylene Glycol 6000) Molecular Biology Grade is a high-purity, non-ionic, hydrophilic polymer designed for molecular biology, biochemical, and life science applications requiring low nuclease contamination and reliable batch consistency. This DNase/RNase-free PEG-6000 is widely used in DNA uptake enhancement, cell fusion, protoplast fusion, macromolecule precipitation, and molecular concentration workflows.
PEG 6000 is readily soluble in water and many organic solvents, while exhibiting excellent biocompatibility, thermal stability, and low chemical reactivity. Due to its hygroscopic and water-binding properties, PEG-6000 is commonly used for concentrating biological samples and improving transformation efficiency in organisms such as yeast and other microbial systems. In molecular biology workflows, PEG 4000 and PEG 6000 are frequently used to promote cell hybridization, facilitate DNA transformation, and assist in biomolecule purification and precipitation procedures.
This product is manufactured to Molecular Biology Grade standards and tested DNase/RNase-free, making it suitable for sensitive nucleic acid handling and research applications.
