Description
Filovirus Type Probe qRT-PCR Kit is designed for the quantitative detection of Ebola- and Marburgvirus targets using real-time RT-PCR with hydrolysis probes. Purified RNA is reverse transcribed into cDNA and subsequently amplified using primers. During amplification, Taq DNA polymerase cleaves the bound probes, releasing fluorescence signals. The increase in fluorescence measures the amplification process, and Ct values can be used to evaluate relative target abundance among samples.
Filovirus Type Probe qRT-PCR Kit is designed for the quantitative analysis of Ebola- and Marburgvirus targets and differentiation of five Ebolavirus species including Bundibugyo ebolavirus (BDBV), Reston ebolavirus (RESTV), Sudan ebolavirus (SUDV), Taï Forest ebolavirus (TAFV), and Zaire ebolavirus (EBOV).
Note: This product is intended for research use only. Not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use.

Is a ROX Dye included with the kit?
No — ROX dye is not included with the kit. We can add a passive reference dye matched to your instrument upon request for $25 USD. To request a ROX dye, please contact us for a quote at contact@biofargo.com.
Is an Internal Control included with the kit?
Yes. This kit includes a pre-mixed Internal Control (IC) system. IC primers and probes are already pre-mixed within each PCR premix (Tube A, B, and C). No additional IC components are required for the PCR reaction setup.
Is validation data available for the kit?
Validation data may be available upon request, depending on the target. Standard validation generated from plasmid-based positive controls can typically be provided for many kits. Validation generated using the actual target material is handled case by case — it requires that we are able to source the material, or that the customer supplies an extracted nucleic acid sample. Please note all kits are intended strictly for research use only. To enquire, contact us at contact@biofargo.com.
What is the lead time for all PCR kits?
Standard production takes 7–14 days, after which kits ship from our laboratory to our warehouse. Expedited production (~7 days) is available upon request. We also maintain a ready inventory of our most popular kits to reduce wait times.
Can I customize this kit?
Yes — we offer custom assays. Customization can include target, pack size, reaction volume, master mix format, and inclusion of an internal control. Pricing is evaluated based on your specific customization requirements and quoted accordingly. For details, please contact us at contact@biofargo.com.
Will your kits work with any PCR system?
Our kits use standard probe-based fluorescence chemistry and are compatible with virtually all real-time PCR platforms. They are validated and optimized on widely used systems — including the Applied Biosystems QuantStudio series — and run reliably on other mainstream instruments using compatible detection channels. If you let us know your specific instrument model, we are happy to confirm the optimal channel and filter settings for your setup.
Do you offer discounts for bulk orders of kits?
Yes — we offer substantial discounts for bulk orders on most PCR kits. Discounts are available upon request through quotes only and do not apply to online orders. Bulk discounts apply to kits of the same type ordered at the same time, following this standard structure:
- 5% OFF (Qty. 5–9 kits)
- 10% OFF (Qty. 10–14 kits)
- 25% OFF (Qty. 15–29 kits)
- 35% OFF (Qty. 30+ kits)
For more information about discounted pricing, please contact us at contact@biofargo.com.
Do you ship qPCR kits internationally?
Yes — we ship internationally via FedEx International Express (generally CIF or DAP terms). All international shipments include dry ice sufficient for maintaining low-temperature conditions during transit. We can also assist with customs clearance by providing required documentation such as COAs, MSDS, and HS codes. Dry ice surcharges may apply.
Do you ship qPCR kits on ice packs or at room temperature?
No. We do not ship qPCR kits on blue ice or at room temperature due to our strict quality requirements. This kit is shipped under controlled cold-chain conditions. Kits should be stored at −20°C for best performance.
Are your kits approved for diagnostic or clinical use?
No. All Biofargo kits are strictly for research use only (RUO). Biofargo, Inc. is not authorized to sell products for diagnostic, detection, clinical, personal, or any other non-research application. Use of our kits outside of an authorized laboratory research context is not permitted.
