Description

Agarose is a polymer isolated from red seaweed, from the species Gelidium and Gracilaria, and it is commonly used for the separation of nucleic acids. Type I agarose is often utilized in molecular biology to make agarose gels for electrophoresis, a technique used to separate and analyze DNA or RNA fragments or proteins based on their size. Agarose may also be used in plant cell culture to create hydrogels, which are gel-like materials that provide a three-dimensional matrix. This provides a supportive and biocompatible environment for plant cells, this mimics physiological conditions and conducts experiments in vivo. They are versatile for various applications in plant biology, such as studying cell growth, tissue culture, and analyzing plant responses to different stimuli.

Features

Standard Melting and Gelling Agarose
Suitable for routine nucleic acid and protein analytical and preparative applications.

DNase, RNase and Protease Free
DNase, RNase & Protease is not detected, helping protect valuable DNA and RNA samples during electrophoresis workflows.

Excellent DNA Separation Performance
Validated for DNA separation applications and tested for reliable electrophoretic performance.

High Gel Strength
Gel strength greater than 1,120 g/cm² at 1.5% concentration provides durable gels with excellent handling characteristics.

Low Electroendosmosis (EEO)
Electroendosmosis less than 0.12 supports sharper DNA band resolution and improved electrophoretic consistency.

Thermo-Reversible Gel Formation
Forms strong gels at low concentrations and melts upon heating, simplifying gel preparation and sample processing workflows.

Suitable for Analytical and Preparative Applications
Can be used for routine nucleic acid analysis, DNA fragment purification, gel extraction workflows, and preparative electrophoresis.
