Description
Rapid Protein Staining Solution is an advanced Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250–based staining reagent designed for fast, sensitive, and convenient protein visualization.
It is suitable for staining protein gels following SDS-PAGE or native PAGE, as well as for detecting residual proteins in gels after Western blot transfer.
Protein bands can be visualized within 2 minutes, with detection sensitivity reaching 100 ng within 5 minutes. With appropriate destaining, the detection limit can be as low as 10 ng.
Features
-
Rapid and Highly Sensitive
Visible protein bands appear within 2 minutes. Detection sensitivity reaches 100 ng in 5 minutes and can be improved to 10 ng with extended staining and proper destaining.
-
Simple and Time-Saving
No fixation, heating, or pre-washing steps are required. Protein bands can be directly visualized after water destaining.
-
Environmentally Friendly
Formulated with a non-toxic and non-hazardous composition, free of irritating odors, ensuring a safer working environment.
Applications
SDS-PAGE protein gel staining
Native PAGE protein gel staining
Detection of residual proteins after Western blot transfer
Protocol
-
Gel Preparation
After electrophoresis, briefly rinse the gel in deionized water to remove residual buffer and reduce background.
-
Staining
Discard the rinse solution and add sufficient staining solution to fully immerse the gel.
Incubate at room temperature on a horizontal shaker for 5–30 minutes.
For low-abundance proteins, longer staining times are recommended. Staining duration may be adjusted based on band intensity.
-
Destaining and Visualization
Remove the staining solution and rinse the gel with deionized water to eliminate excess dye. Protein bands will become visible immediately.
-
Optional Background Reduction
Replace deionized water every 5 minutes and repeat 3–5 times to further reduce background.
Alternatively, soak the gel in deionized water overnight for optimal background clarity.
Storage and Stability
Store at room temperature, protected from light.
Stable for 12 months under recommended storage conditions.
Notes
The recommended protocol is optimized for gels of 8 × 10 cm or 10 × 10 cm with a thickness of 0.75 mm. For larger or thicker gels, increase staining volume and extend incubation time accordingly.
The staining solution may be reused 5–6 times with a slight decrease in sensitivity. For reuse, store at 4°C and extend staining time as needed.
Use at least 20 mL of staining solution per gel. Insufficient volume may compromise staining performance.
Minor precipitates may form during storage. Mix thoroughly before use. This does not affect product performance.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Appropriate personal protective equipment (lab coat, gloves) should be worn during use.
