Description

Research involving canine immune responses requires reliable dog-derived primary cell models that maintain species-specific characteristics for in vitro studies. Obtaining well-defined canine immune cells with a documented tissue source and controlled cryopreservation process supports consistent experimental workflows in veterinary and comparative immunology research.

Canine Bone Marrow Monocytes are primary canine monocytes isolated from the bone marrow of beagle dogs, including tibias and femurs. These cells are provided as cryopreserved passage 0 (P0) primary canine cells for research applications under recommended cell culture conditions.

Canine Bone Marrow Monocytes can be used in standard biochemical and molecular biology procedures, including FACS analysis, PCR, Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and ROS detection. The cells are tested negative for bacteria, yeast, fungi, and mycoplasma.

These canine primary immune cells are intended for research use only. The cells do not proliferate in culture and cannot be passaged.

Canine Primary Immune Cell Model

Canine Bone Marrow Monocytes provide a dog-derived primary monocyte model for researchers studying canine immune cell characteristics and molecular responses. The cells are isolated from canine bone marrow and supplied as cryopreserved primary cells for designed research applications.

  • Species-specific canine immune research model

  • Bone marrow-derived monocyte source

  • Suitable for short-term experimental workflows

  • Compatible with standard biochemical and molecular biology procedures

Cell Culture Information

Canine Bone Marrow Monocytes should be handled according to the recommended primary cell culture protocol. Although monocytes are commonly classified as suspension cells and may be shipped in suspension format upon request, recovery and culture procedures require seeding cells onto culture vessels pre-coated with gelatin-based coating solution.

During culture handling, medium changes are performed according to the recommended protocol to remove non-adherent cells and maintain appropriate cell conditions for designed experiments.

  • Recommended medium: M3366 Complete Leukocyte Medium w/ Kit (500 ml)

  • Gelatin-based coating solution: Cell Biologics Catalog No. CB6950

  • Pre-warm culture medium to 37°C before use

  • Use aseptic techniques during all cell handling procedures

  • Follow the supplied primary cell culture protocol for recovery and experimental use

Storage & Handling

  • Store cryopreserved cells in liquid nitrogen (-180°C)

  • Shipments are provided on dry ice

  • Transfer frozen cells to liquid nitrogen immediately after arrival

  • Do not store primary cells at -20°C or -80°C

  • Use sterile handling procedures during cell recovery

FAQ

What are Canine Bone Marrow Monocytes used for?

Canine Bone Marrow Monocytes are used for canine immune cell research, including FACS analysis, PCR, Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, ROS detection, and other designed research applications.

What is the source of these canine primary cells?

These cells are isolated from the bone marrow of beagle dogs, including canine tibias and femurs.

Can Canine Bone Marrow Monocytes be expanded or passaged?

No. These primary monocytes do not proliferate in culture and cannot be passaged. They are supplied as cryopreserved P0 cells for research use.

What is the cell density provided for each vial?

Canine Bone Marrow Monocytes are cryopreserved at a density of 5 × 106 cells/mL per vial.

Which culture medium is recommended for Canine Bone Marrow Monocytes?

M3366 Complete Leukocyte Medium w/ Kit (500 ml) is recommended for cell recovery and culture procedures.

Are Canine Bone Marrow Monocytes shipped as suspension cells?

Suspension cells can be shipped in 50 ml conical tubes upon request. For recovery and culture procedures, cells should be handled according to the recommended protocol, including use of gelatin-based coating solution when specified.

How should cryopreserved canine monocytes be stored?

Cryopreserved cells should be transferred to liquid nitrogen storage (-180°C) immediately after receipt. Primary cells should not be stored at -20°C or -80°C.

Are these cells suitable for human clinical or diagnostic use?

No. Canine Bone Marrow Monocytes are provided for research use only and are not authorized for human use, in vitro diagnostic procedures, or therapeutic applications.
