Description
Oncostatin M (OSM) belongs to the interleukin-6 cytokine family.
OSM is a glycoprotein secreted by activated monocytes, macrophages, T lymphocytes, and dendritic cells.
OSM was first discovered as a factor that inhibits melanoma cell growth.
OSM inhibits liver cancer cell proliferation by activating STAT3 signaling and upregulating oncogene c-Myc expression, while also accelerating cell senescence.
In addition, OSM participates in liver cell proliferation and tissue remodeling during liver regeneration.
OSM can also inhibit the adipogenic differentiation of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and stimulate their osteogenic differentiation.

Applications
Participates in hepatocyte proliferation and tissue remodeling processes during liver regeneration studies.
Used to investigate STAT3 signaling activation and c-Myc regulation involved in liver cancer cell proliferation and senescence mechanisms.
Inhibits adipogenic differentiation of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells while promoting osteogenic differentiation.
Applicable for stem cell culture models including MSC and iPSC research environments.
Storage
Store below -20°C
Instructions
Centrifuge before reopening the tube. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water. It is recommended to reconstitute the concentration to greater than 100 μg /mL.
After reconstitution, the protein can be stored at -80℃ for 3-6 months and at 2-8℃ for 2-7 days. For optimal storage, aliquot the protein and minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
Precautions
This product is only suitable for in vitro cell culture and cannot be used directly in clinical treatment.
