Description
The MoBi Biology Stem Cell Gold Medal Matrix Gel is a natural basement membrane matrix extracted from mouse tumors rich in extracellular matrix proteins. Its primary components include:
- Laminin
- Collagen IV (Col-IV)
- Entactin
- Heparan sulfate proteoglycans
- Various cytokines such as insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1), transforming growth factor β (TGF-β), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), epidermal growth factor (EGF), and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF).
The product is dissolved in high-glucose, phenol-red DMEM (Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium) and contains 50 μg/mL gentamicin for non-customized versions.
Storage Conditions/Method
- Store at -20℃ in a freezer.
Shipping Conditions/Method
- Transported on dry ice.
Recommended Usage
This product is recommended for use with specific culture media in stem cell-related research, such as the expansion and differentiation of hESCs (human embryonic stem cells) and iPSCs (induced pluripotent stem cells). It is also suitable for in vivo differentiation studies, including teratoma formation.
Additionally, it is ideal for establishing organoid models, such as mouse intestinal organoids, lung organoids, human brain organoids, and tumor organoids, ensuring experimental effectiveness and reproducibility.
Applications
The MoBi Biology Stem Cell Gold Medal Matrix Gel has been screened to enhance stem cell adhesion, proliferation, and maintenance of pluripotency. It is suitable for the growth and differentiation of hESCs (human embryonic stem cells) and iPSCs (induced pluripotent stem cells), as well as for the development of organoids induced from stem cells

Usage Precautions
Temperature Control
- Product remains stable at ≤-20°C; minimize freeze-thaw cycles by aliquoting.
- Avoid storing in frost-free freezers; ensure consistent frozen storage for long-term preservation.
- During initial thawing, embed vials in crushed ice and allow to thaw in a 4°C refrigerator.
- Cool all materials in contact with the product beforehand.
- Avoid holding containers by hand for extended periods to prevent gelation from body heat. If the product thickens, return it to 0–4°C for 1–2 hours to restore flowability without affecting usability.
Contamination Avoidance
- Maintain strict separation of clean areas, workbenches, and contaminated zones. Perform actions like pipetting and discarding tips in a unidirectional flow.
Other Notes
- Upon each thawing, gently shake or pipette to ensure uniform protein distribution.
Usage Guidelines
The MoBi Biology Stem Cell Gold Medal Matrix Gel supports four primary application methods. Detailed protocols for each method are available to help users tailor usage to their experimental goals. Let me know if you'd like a description of any specific method!
