Description

Agarose B is optimized for pulsed-field electrophoresis. This product has a high gel strength, which facilitate the preparation of low concentration gels for resolving LARGE (>20 kb) fragments.

Agarose B Low EEO is a high-performance biotechnology-grade agarose designed for applications requiring superior resolution of large DNA molecules. Its combination of high gel strength and controlled electroendosmosis (EEO) enables the preparation of stable low-concentration gels while maintaining excellent separation performance for high-molecular-weight nucleic acids.

The product is particularly suitable for pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), genomic DNA analysis, restriction fragment separation, and other molecular biology workflows involving large DNA fragments. The low EEO characteristics help minimize electroosmotic effects, improving band sharpness and migration consistency during electrophoresis. Agarose B also features high gel integrity, making gels easier to handle during staining, imaging, excision, and downstream recovery procedures.

Features

  • Optimized for Pulsed-Field Electrophoresis

Agarose B is optimized for pulsed-field electrophoresis.

  • Excellent Resolution of Large DNA Fragments

This product has a high gel strength, which facilitate the preparation of low concentration gels for resolving LARGE (>20 kb) fragments.

  • Low Electroendosmosis (Low EEO)

EEO value of 0.09–0.13 helps reduce electroosmotic interference and supports improved migration consistency during electrophoretic separation.

  • High Gel Strength

Gel strength ≥1,200 g/cm² provides excellent gel stability and handling characteristics, particularly in low-percentage gel applications.

  • RNase and DNase Free

RNase and DNase are not detected, supporting sensitive nucleic acid analysis workflows.

  • Thermo-Reversible Gel Formation

Forms strong gels upon cooling and melts when heated, allowing convenient gel preparation and sample processing.

  • Suitable for Preparative and Analytical Workflows

Supports both analytical electrophoresis and preparative nucleic acid separation applications involving large DNA molecules.

Applications

  • Pulsed-Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE)

Designed specifically for PFGE workflows used to separate and analyze very large DNA fragments exceeding conventional agarose gel capabilities.

  • Large DNA Fragment Separation

Ideal for resolving DNA fragments larger than 20 kb, including genomic DNA restriction fragments and high-molecular-weight nucleic acid samples.

  • Genomic DNA Analysis

Suitable for chromosome-sized DNA fragments, genome mapping studies, and structural genomic investigations.

  • BAC and YAC Clone Analysis

Useful for characterization and verification of bacterial artificial chromosomes (BACs), yeast artificial chromosomes (YACs), and other large DNA constructs.

  • Restriction Fragment Analysis

Separation and visualization of large restriction enzyme digestion products for molecular biology and genetics research.

  • DNA Recovery and Preparative Electrophoresis

Supports downstream excision and purification of large DNA fragments for cloning, sequencing, and advanced molecular biology workflows.

  • Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Research

Applicable to genetics, genomics, microbial typing, chromosome analysis, genome mapping, and other research areas requiring high-resolution separation of large nucleic acid molecules.
