Description
Sephadex G-150 column is a size-exclusion chromatography medium used for the separation and purification of macromolecules, such as proteins, nucleic acids, and polysaccharides, based on their molecular size. It is composed of cross-linked dextran beads, which create a porous matrix that allows smaller molecules to enter the beads while larger molecules are excluded, resulting in their separation.
Specification
| Dry Particle Diameter | 40~120 μm |
| Molecular Weight Fractionation Range | A. Peptides and globular proteins: 5000~400000; B. Dextrans (linear molecules): 1000~150000 |
| Bed Volume (per gram of dry molecular sieve) | ~15 mL/g |
| pH | 2~13 |
| Characteristics | White beads or powder, a hydrophilic gel. It is stable in property, insoluble in water, weak acids and alkaline solutions; strong acids can hydrolyze glycosidic bonds. |
| Storage | 2~8 °C |
Applications
Biochemical research. Used for gel filtration, peptide separation, desalting, and molecular weight determination.
