Description

BioFargo 100X Penicillin-Streptomycin Solution (commonly known as "Pen-Strep") is a broad-spectrum antibiotic mixture designed to prevent bacterial contamination in cell culture. This ready-to-use solution contains 10,000 units/mL of Penicillin G and 10,000 μg/mL of Streptomycin sulfate in a 0.85% saline or citrate buffer.

Penicillin acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis (targeting Gram-positive bacteria), while Streptomycin inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit (targeting both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria). Our solution is sterile-filtered (0.22 μm) and rigorously tested to ensure optimal cell growth and viability without toxicity at the recommended working concentration.
