Description
Fragmentation of nucleic acids, chromatin, or proteins for NGS
The EoSonics® FRAG8 Sonicator applies advanced ACU™ (Adaptive Cylindrical Ultrasonic) technology for precise fragmentation of extracted nucleic acids, chromatin, or proteins. By fine-tuning acoustic parameters, it allows accurate control of nucleic acid fragment length, delivering high-quality results for next-generation sequencing (NGS) and related workflows.
EoSonics® FRAG8 supports 1–8 samples per run, compatible with both single tubes and 8-strip tubes. This flexible design eliminates the need for dedicated consumables, reducing consumable costs and simplifying workflow. Samples can also be processed directly in plates, enabling seamless automation without manual transfer. Compared with enzymatic fragmentation, ultrasonic shearing provides unbiased, non-preferential sequence cutting with tighter fragment size distribution, making it the preferred choice for NGS sample preparation.

Based on pan-cancer DNA library preparation and NGS sequencing results, the sample fragmentation capability of the LivoBot Focused-ultrasonicator is fully compatible with the Illumina TSO500 panel kit.
The image demonstrates the DNA fragmentation result using commonly used 8-strip tube. The fragment sizes are all stable at 150～200bp.
