Description
IL-3 (Interleukin-3), also known as Multi-CSF, is a cytokine secreted by activated T cells, mast cells, and natural killer (NK) cells. It exerts its function by binding to the IL-3 receptor complex, composed of IL-3Rα (CD123) and the common beta chain (CD131), thereby activating downstream signaling pathways such as JAK/STAT, MAPK, and PI3K/Akt. IL-3 plays a critical regulatory role in both hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic systems. It promotes the survival and proliferation of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, and supports the growth of myeloid cells, including granulocytes, monocytes, and mast cells. Furthermore, IL-3 enhances the antigen-presenting capacity of dendritic cells (DCs) and stimulates B cell proliferation and antibody secretion.
