Description
FGF-1 (Fibroblast Growth Factor-1 (Acidic)), also known as aFGF, is an important cell growth factor belonging to the FGF family. Its molecular core consists of a β-trefoil topological structure composed of 12 β-strands stabilized by disulfide bonds. It plays a key role in cell proliferation, differentiation, and tissue repair. FGF-1 can promote the proliferation of various cell types, such as fibroblasts, endothelial cells, neural cells, and stem cells. In serum-free culture media, when used in combination with other factors (such as TGF-β), it can inhibit stem cell differentiation and maintain their undifferentiated state.
