Description
Activin A is a dimeric glycoprotein belonging to the TGF-β superfamily. It plays crucial roles in various physiological processes, including embryonic differentiation, trophoblast invasion during early pregnancy, and neuroprotection under hypoxic conditions.
Additionally, Activin A is involved in bone formation and regeneration, contributes to joint inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis, and mediates pathogenic mechanisms in the respiratory system.
Activin A signals through a complex of two type I and two type II serine/threonine kinase receptors. Upon ligand binding, these receptors activate their kinase activity and phosphorylate the intracellular mediators SMAD2 and SMAD3.
The phosphorylated SMADs then form a heteromeric complex with SMAD4. This complex translocates to the nucleus, where it regulates the transcription of target genes.

Developmental Biology Models
Applied in studies of embryonic differentiation, trophoblast invasion, and hypoxia-related cellular responses.
Instructions
Centrifuge before reopening the tube. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in 4 mM HCl. It is recommended to reconstitute the protein to a concentration greater than 100 μg/mL. After reconstitution, the protein can be stored at -80°C for 3-6 months and at 2-8℃ for 2-7 days. For optimal storage, aliquot the protein and minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
Precautions
This product is only suitable for in vitro cell culture and cannot be used directly in clinical treatment.
Storage
Store below -20°C
