Description

Cryogenic storage boxes often fail in two critical ways: they absorb moisture and degrade over time, or they lack clear labeling systems—turning organized sample storage into a time-consuming search.

A premium, biobank-grade cryogenic box for long-term sample security. Built from close-bottom, water-resistant coated cardboard, it resists moisture, frost and repeated freeze–thaw cycles. A hinged lid stays attached so it never gets lost or mismatched, and a removable plastic (PP) grid insert with alphanumeric positions (A–J × 1–9 / 1–10) lets you index and retrieve 0.5–2.0 mL tubes fast. Available in 81-well (9×9) and 100-well (10×10) formats that fit standard freezer racks and LN2 systems.

Compatible with 0.5–2.0 mL microtubes and cryovials. Fits standard freezer racks and LN2 storage systems.

Features

  • Removable plastic (PP) grid insert — the #1 upgrade over standard cardboard boxes. A lift-out plastic grid printed with alphanumeric positions (A–J × 1–9 / 1–10) for precise indexing, fast retrieval, and easy cleaning — the standard CryoKING box has only a fixed cardboard divider.
  • Hinged lid — flip-open lid stays attached to the base, so lids never get lost or swapped between boxes; can still be fully removed when needed.
  • Close-bottom, water-resistant coated cardboard — sealed bottom and protective coating resist moisture, frost and condensation through repeated cold-storage handling.
  • 81 / 100-well formats — 9×9 or 10×10 layouts for 0.5–2.0 mL microtubes and cryovials.
  • Wide temperature stability (−196 °C to 121 °C) — vapor-phase LN2, ultra-low freezers, and high-temperature sterilization when required.
  • Chemical resistance — resistant to alcohols and mild organic solvents.

FAQ

  • Is the lid attached?Yes — it is a hinged lid that flips open and stays attached, so it can't get lost or mismatched. It can still be fully removed if you prefer.
  • Does it have a labeling grid?Yes — the removable plastic insert is printed with alphanumeric positions for precise indexing and fast retrieval.
  • How is it different from the standard CryoKING box?The biggest difference is the insert: 423001 comes with a removable plastic (PP) grid insert printed with alphanumeric positions, whereas the standard CryoKING box has only a fixed cardboard divider. It also adds a hinged (attached) lid and close-bottom, water-resistant construction — ideal for biobanking and long-term storage.
  • What temperature range does it support?−196 °C to 121 °C — suitable for vapor-phase liquid nitrogen and ultra-low (−80 °C) freezers, and it tolerates autoclave / high-temperature sterilization when required.
  • How durable is it / what makes it premium quality? It is a premium-grade box. The close-bottom, heavyweight water-resistant coated cardboard stays rigid and resists sagging or delamination when wet, and the removable PP plastic insert is reusable and moisture-proof — engineered to survive repeated freeze–thaw cycles and long-term −80 °C and LN2 storage.
