Description

Maintaining reliable cell viability after cryopreservation is a critical challenge in stem cell research workflows. During freezing, long-term storage, transportation on dry ice, and thawing procedures, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) may experience osmotic stress, ice crystal damage, and reduced recovery performance, which can affect downstream expansion and differentiation studies.

Biofargo MSCryo Serum-Free MSC Cryopreservation Medium is specifically developed for mesenchymal stem cell freezing and long-term storage applications. The formulation provides cryoprotective support during low-temperature preservation while helping maintain post-thaw cell viability and recovery performance.

Unlike conventional serum-containing freezing solutions, Biofargo MSCryo is formulated without serum, animal-derived components, or protein ingredients, reducing the risk of undefined components and improving consistency for controlled MSC banking workflows.

Designed as a serum-free MSC freezing medium, Biofargo MSCryo supports cryopreservation workflows for mesenchymal stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), and embryonic stem cells (ESCs), providing researchers with a reliable solution for cell storage and recovery.

Performance Data

Post-Thaw Viability and Long-Term Cryopreservation Performance

Biofargo MSCryo was evaluated using human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) to assess the performance of serum-free MSC cryopreservation. Cells were cultured under serum-free stem cell culture conditions and cryopreserved after passage 4 (P4).

Following controlled freezing at -80°C and subsequent storage in liquid nitrogen, thawed cells demonstrated stable recovery performance. Biofargo MSCryo maintained post-thaw cell viability above 90% during evaluated storage periods, including 1-month, 3-month, and 12-month cryopreservation conditions.

Post-thaw viability analysis of human mesenchymal stem cells cryopreserved with Biofargo MSCryo serum-free freezing medium

Long-term storage evaluation showed that cells preserved with Biofargo MSCryo maintained high recovery performance, with more than 80% cell recovery after 12 months of cryopreservation.

MSC Cryopreservation Recovery Analysis

Successful MSC banking requires not only cell survival during freezing but also efficient recovery after thawing. Biofargo MSCryo supports recovery workflows by minimizing cryopreservation-related stress and maintaining the ability of thawed MSCs to resume culture expansion.

Why Choose Biofargo MSCryo?

Maintaining a stable MSC population during long-term storage requires a cryopreservation medium that balances effective cryoprotection with controlled formulation characteristics. Variations in freezing conditions, storage duration, and thawing procedures may influence cell recovery and downstream experimental reproducibility.

Biofargo MSCryo provides a serum-free MSC freezing solution designed to support reliable cryopreservation workflows. The animal component-free and protein-free formulation helps reduce variability associated with undefined biological components, making it suitable for laboratories requiring consistent MSC storage conditions.

With validated performance in human mesenchymal stem cell cryopreservation, Biofargo MSCryo supports researchers working on MSC expansion, differentiation studies, cell banking, and stem cell research applications.
