Nerve growth factor (NGF) is a neurotrophic factor and neuropeptide primarily involved in the regulation of growth, maintenance, proliferation, and survival of certain target neurons. NGF-ÉÇ acts through its receptor ÉÇ-NGFR and is involved in the development and maintenance of the sensory and sympathetic nervous systems. NGF-ÉÇ also is also involved in the growth, differentiation, and survival of B lymphocytes. Human, mouse and rat proteins show cross-reactivity.

Stability and Storage:

Lyophilized protein should be stored at -20 degrees Celsius for 1 year. Upon reconstitution, store at 2 degrees Celsius to 8 degrees Celsius for up to 1 week. Further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein or stabilizer (e.g. 0.1% BSA, 10%FBS, 5%HSA or 5% trehalose solution), protein aliquots should be stored at -20 degrees Celsius or -80 degrees Celsius for 3-6 months.
